Well Brittany really is living the dream. The Paris-ite and winner of the “new BFF” title milx the few times she gets to make public appearances. Here they are at the Iceberg New Years day party in Sydney, loving et. Personally (and Nitz is with me on this 1) I wanted Onch to win; he had true dedication to this worthy cause. What I wanna know is, do they lock her out of the bathroom when it’s Jerrse time?

Pieces of the dream that I pick up in my mind. I get high.

Most in the UK would only know Stacy Epps for her delicious vocals on Madvillain’s 2 minute treat “Eye” off the first Madvillainy album. As Helg put it once in some seconds of transient joy; “everyone has had a moment with this tune…” We also love her 50 seconds to shine embedded into track 4 of Madlib’s Mind Fusion, vol 5.

Stacy is actually a double-threat. Homegirl is a killer M.C with poignant slam-style lyrics, as well as the owner of a singing voice that is ethereal, subtle, and strong simultaneously. The result is soaring, skyscraping, evocative of the perfume and the pulse of the urban South. Hailing from Atlanta, a signifyin(g) beacon of integration and vibrancy, she has a post-graduate law degree from the University of Southern California. Baby’s on the Afro-Centric tip, urging the sistas to honor their “natural glow” at all times.

So I just picked up her new E.P 222 on wax. It features a selection of cuts from her debut solo album “The Awakening” which is only available on CD at the moment. Check side B for “Cosmik Dust”, a classic Flying Lotus piece of work. Flylo’s staggering archetype shares center stage with Stacy’s relentless spitting to form a track that complements both aspects with a steady, cohesive groove. “Cold Times”, a softer Madlib production, contains those legendary Madlib bells and symbols against Stacy’s ferocious poesie. Other tracks produced by Apex (of 50 cent fame, lol) and Muhsinah. For the many Americans who are convinced that vocal Hip-Hop has already died a slow and gory death, perhaps Stacy’s presence ensures that its ghost inhabits a new shape that’s pretty damn FIERCE if you ask me.

Braiden’s New Year initiative with my lovely chocolate treez reminded me of my #1 savvysister. I love them both like two little ripe peaches.

Fruit salad. With low-fat whip cream.

Sorry if you are a few years late like me and this is a spoiler, but my corazon is broken in the wake of Johnny Sack’s death. He was a G as well as a loving husband. I want my life-partner to love me that much one day. Rubenesque!

This painting is what Johnny’s senses imagine every time he looks at Ginny. Try explaining that to Ralph Cifaretto.

Me and my wife dream of being the lucky gyals on the Life cereal box one day, and we think ‘09 might be the year. For those who don’t know, Life is a delicious American cereal full of whole grain cinnamon goodness. I’m thinkin M.S and I would be the perfect ethnically incongruent lil ones to grace the cover of the box. Partridges in Sloane Sq. stock Life by the bowlful, just so you know. They also have P.B and J swirled together in a jar?! dope, literally.

This tune reminds me of not being born yet. My parents rocked this cut back in the dayz of olive branches and roller blades in Washington Square Park. Now I bust this in the Helga house like it’s a West Village cruise-bar, circa 1982.

“What does love want me to do?”
I wonder if Shan/the lyricist behind the genius had been reading the 16th century Neo-Platonists (?)
